Loyd Phillips played tackle for Arkansas at 230 pounds, was

unanimous All-America in 1966 and won the Outland Trophy
as the nation's best interior lineman. The Chicago Bears
drafted him, but an injury cut short any pro football career.

education. He served as vice-principal at junior and senior
high schools in Arkansas. The Phillips family has been
involved in Arkansas activities. Loyd's son, McKenzie, played
tackle for the Arkansas football team in 1988, 1989 and 1991.
Loyd's brother, Terry Don Phillips, played tackle at Arkansas
1966-1968; in 1992 he was named Associate Athletic
Director at Arkansas.
